Q:
How do I pay?
A:
30% on booking and the balance at least six weeks prior to your stay. Most guests pay by international bank transfer to my multi currency account in Singapore. I can also accept GB Pounds into my account in the UK. Alternatively, you can pay by credit card via STRIPE, but this costs an extra 4.8% (charged by STRIPE). If you prefer, you can pay 50% on booking and the balance in cash on arrival.
Q:
How do we get to the villa?
A:
Just let us know when you arrive, and we will pick you up from Phuket airport (or anywhere else on Phuket) by private luxury minibus. The cost is about 1,500 baht depending on the time of day.
Q:
What time can we check in?
A:
Our usual check in time is after 2.00pm (afternoon). Usual check out time before 11.00am (morning). If these times are inconvenient for your flight times, please let me know and I will advise on the best course of action for you to have a great holiday. We can look after your heavy bags and take you to the Beach or Shopping.
Q:
What if we arrive in the middle of the night?
A:
No problem , our driver will meet you at anytime of the day or night.
Q:
Are breakfasts included?
A:
YES , We supply free breakfasts. For all other meals, we have an extensive menu from which you can choose. Our chefs will be available to you to cook any other meals, you just pay for the basic costs of the raw ingredients, which we purchase fresh from the morning market (excellent value).
Q:
What about other meals?
A:
We have a comprehensive menu in the villa, and our chefs are renowned for cooking the best Thai food on the island. There is a small extra charge for cooking these meals plus the base costs of the ingredients.
Q:
How do I get groceries/wines/beers/etc?
A:
We can take you to a local market, top quality supermarket or wine store to do your shopping, or you can just complete a grocery list prior to your holiday and our manageress will buy everything you order. Just settle up with her on arrival.
Q:
Which villa is best for my group?
A:
There is not much to choose between the villas, but the lounge and dining areas in Villa Jasmine are slightly larger, so we recommend larger groups stay in Villa Jasmine. Villa Jasmine also has a kid's paddling pool for non swimming infants. Personally, I prefer Villa Malee as the pool is larger and it has a great roof top sala to enjoy those sundowners!
Q:
How do we get to the beach?
A:
It is about 1.5 miles to the world famous Kata Beach, across a main road and then down a pleasant side street with many bars, restaurants and beauty shops. My daughters (aged 8 and 10) - have walked it, but I prefer to drive. Alternatively, our staff will call you a private tuk tuk at any time day or night (200 to 300 baht) . Many guests also hire motor bikes or cars. We give you a local prepaid mobile so you can find your way back.
Q:
How much does it cost to get to Patong?
A:
About 400 to 500 baht by taxi.
Q:
Is the villa suitable for small children?
A:
Absolutely. When I designed the villa, I had two small toddlers myself and I realised how few villas in Thailand were really safe for young children. The Pool area in each villa can be fenced off and there are no unguarded steps or gaps for toddlers to fall through.
Q:
What about infant safety around the pool?
A:
The whole pool area can be screened off with full height screens. Please do not allow small non swimming kids to play unattended around the pool.
Q:
Can you organise trips and/or massages for us?
A:
Yes . Just ask our manageress Khun Noi. She is available to you 24 hours per day during your stay, and she knows all the best places.
Q:
Do I need to worry about mosquitoes?
A:
No . We have very few mosquitoes, and they are very small. There are no exposed areas of water for them to breed. We have full sized screens on all windows and doors, and because the pool and sunbathing areas are high up, our guests are rarely bothered by mosquitoes.
Q:
Can we drink the water?
A:
Our fresh water comes from rain water and a well and is stored under the villa. We have a purifying filter on the water in the kitchen for cooking and washing vegetables and salads. We suggest you use bottled mineral water for drinking and teeth cleaning.
Q:
Is the weather bad in the wet season?
A:
Some of our best weather is during the summer or green season (May to October) - the weather is cooler, you may get the occasional shower, but we locals prefer this weather.
Q:
How deep is your swimming pool at the shallow end and at the deeper end?
A:
1.1 metres deep at the shallow end and 1.6 metres deep at the deep end.
Q:
Is the pool salt-cleaned or chlorinated?
A:
We keep the swimming pools crystal clear by just using a little salt. It is so clear and clean you can drink the water if you want. The water truly sparkles. We ask you to shower before going in the pool (especially to wash off sun tan oil). This way we only need to use a tiny bit of salt, the pools are cleaned every morning before 7.00am.
Q:
Do you have any kids toys or inflatables to use in the pool?
A:
Yes . Extra inflatable toys are easy to buy and very cheap.
Q:
Do we need to speak Thai?
A:
No. English is generally spoken on Phuket.
